Objects of Fire in Quartz Sand

Unearthed is a series of candleholders made from quartz sand, appearing both as excavated artefacts and as natural crystallisations emerging from the earth.

Rather than treating the past as style, reference or irony, the objects seek an archaic force within the present. Their forms are neither invented from nothing nor inherited as replicas. They are drawn from an underlying order in nature, then made visible through will and matter.

The candle becomes a vertical axis of fire, transforming sand into a small architectural body: a contemporary ritual object for carrying light.
